Floating shelves, hiding spot

2 floating shelves. 1st shelf (longer shelf) is 36 in x 6.5 in x 2.5 in made w/ Sapele and finished with danish oil. Secured with home made 2×4 bracket I made to fit inside of shelf. 2nd shelf 20 in x 6.5 in x 2.5 in, made from african mahogany, inside of this shelf has a hiding spot made from maple, finished danish oil

Cool! I like this version – I’ve only seen the hinged style, or the drawer that pulls out at the bottom. I like the way the whole top slides off.
