Awesome A-10 gift for an awesome guy!

A-10 barrel was in the recycle bin as trash, used pallet wood ran through a planer to create the maintenance wrench, and used a chrome coat hangar as the A-10 stand (bent to fit).

I’ve painted other gifts in solid colors, but was tired of seeing imperfections in the steel. I heard of a technique using syran wrap and it turned out to mimic camo pretty well. Sprayed everything with clear lacquer when it was finished.

Awesome job! The detail on the A-10 is unreal.

This thing is fantastic! It’s great that you were able to salvage that 30mm barrel, and make something very special with it.

I always enjoy seeing A-10’s at the airshows and talking to the pilots—it’s nice knowing these guys, in these aircraft, are on the job!

That’s a heck of a find in the scrap heap! I know a lot of collectors who would like one of those….really nice job finding a way to display it – my kind of work for sure. Thanks for sharing.

I love the Warthog! Those guys coming in low as close ground support has made many infantrymen very happy over the years.
