Decided to finish this desk box for cell phone ,pens and paper etc. that will find it’s way onto someone’s desk next Christmas and I am ahead making gifts .
Carved Sepele veneer for a hammered look with maple trim and custom pewter drawer pulls with embossing .
Drawers are maple with cloth liners and the top is hinged with SOSS hinges .
Finished with oil and bees wax for easy scratch repair and the beautiful smell .
Overall dimensions 13 1/2”w X 8 1/2” d X5 1/4h

Klaus , the hammer look is great, must of been hard to wax up. ha. I also like the way you did the legs. I love the look of those soss hinges too. That will be someone’s treasure for Christmas.
I bought some of those soss hinges but I need to practice. I keep doing something wrong, not lining up perfect.

Nice one Klaus.,that must be sh,sawn veneer to texture it like that. 1/8”? 3/16”?
Whatever it is, it is magnificent. One of your best and I like them all.

That is an awesome box that will have the christmas gift recepient grinnin’ and singing christmas songs.
The texturing really carches my eye..as does all of it…

Klaus, another beauty. I like the texturing and the legs, especially. A bit of an Asian feel…...
The inward taper and the legs give it a solid presence.
