Kitchen Cabinet Rebuild

Since I’m now retired for good I don’t have any excuses not to get her kitchen cabinets redone. She loves the curly maple (so do I), because it is a light-colored wood and brings the kitchen alive a lot more than the much-yellowed knotty pine we have had for 18 years. I have 4 base units and three good-sized wall units to do before we get her a new floor, stove, dishwasher, and exhaust hood (over the stove), then a new dining room set, etc. You see the picture, it just keeps going like the Eveready bunny…. I’m now finishing up on a wall corner unit combination and will post them later.
Notice a bit of fluting. This is my first try so I know already it is not perfect. BUT….I have plenty of time to practice (shhh, my shop rebuild is coming, and will take the lessons learned there)...
Have a blessed day. Mitch

Thanks to all. I fluted this base cabinet just because she liked it and I wanted to try doing it. I will do the base cabinet across from it once I get to it (behind where I took the photo). We are not going to install any hardware. We both like the look of the cabinets without any pulls or knobs. I routed the backside of the doors and underside of the drawer fronts for finger-pulls and it works just fine.
Just installed the last two wall cabinets today and will do some touching up on them tomorrow. WHEW! I’m pooped and need fresh air.
Lots more work to get done on the cabinets remaining though so I can take a break next month.
Thanks again.
