i made this cutting board with curly maple and hard maple mixed in, and it actually turned out pretty neat looking..just stuck a beveled edge on it and slightly rounded the other side with my block plane and called it a day! needless to say about 90% of this cutting boards flattness came from hand planing and card scraping…i did touch it here and there with a orbit sander though

What’s the point of curly maple in an end grain cutting board? Could just call it maple…
