I have been making a few cutting boards lately and thought why not make a few knives to go along with. This is my first knife and is made of burl maple and finished with a combo of mineral oil and beeswax.

Now that’s a KNOYF!

I’ve made several knifes for boards but they were smaller (I guess about 1/3rd yours). Be interested if this size is popular.
Good luck!

I’ve made some smaller “butter spreaders” but nothing this big. Very Nice!!

That will not be effective for cheese. Could call it a mashed potato knife or something.

Sorry, I may have given it the wrong label. Maybe call it just a kitchen knife…Yes, it is a pretty large knife, but it actually cuts well. I was surprised on how good of an edge you can hone on a piece of wood.

Yeah its nice. Shape for cheese needs straight edge, thin blade, and short blade (little depth from cutting edge to trailing edge). All about reducing friction with the cheez.

Get a nice piece of hickory to hone it with.
