Project Information

Last winters project, I have a ton of pictures but did not load them up, mostly from the initial build. I did not use any drawings for this project and this was the first time I have built such a complicated project, I am pretty pleased with the outcome even though I know there are a ton of mistakes in it I have it in my house and I use it for it's purpose and I love, I did the carving on the door knob, it's supposed to be a Raven in the Tlinglit (pronounced Klinkit) style of carving, it's a little rough but not too bad. I used and antique armoire from the 1920's to fashion the styling along with simple design lines and a little Asian influence thrown in. the main frame in front is Mahogany and the panels are cherry, the secondary woods are fir and pine, thanks for looking!

PPK okay I will just don't laugh too hard. I store linens in there right now, but I am going to use it in My Cabin in Seldovia when I retire to store clothes.

Thanks AKSteve. I learned some history today, I went and looked it up. You did a right fine job, I'd never laugh at anyones' projects. Everyone's at a different point, and most of us probably couldn't make it look as nice as you did anyway! The red color makes it stand out nice. I used to do a gair amount of leather carving and used dye to color in the carvings. Is that what you did here?

Great looking armoire! I like the Art Deco/Asian look of it; and that carving came out great!
