This is another shop notes “small shop solutions” project. My neighbor tore out his old storage room from his house, he had all of the wood piled in a trailer headed for the dump. Needless to say it ended up in my shop. this bench is 95% recycled wood. The top is a maple solid core door that was damaged, 5.00 from a door shop. the only new stuff was the handles “which were to expensive” and the birch drawer fronts. It is Heavy and solid.

Very nice. The solid maple door top is a great idea and the price was right.

Nice bench! That solid top will last a lifetime! It looks like you have good overhang for clamping work to it.
