I saw this idea on this site the other day and thought they were pretty neat so i made a couple. they are pretty neat and very quick and easy to make. I tried a different shape than just the straight piece of wood and it balances out just fine. I used alder but havent put a finish on them yet.

Very cool. Are those just cut at a 45 degree angle or is it different?

its actually a 40 degree angle. i tried a 45 and it wouldnt balance. 9 1/2” long, 1 1/2” dia hole 1 3/4” to center from the end. you can drill the hole straight or at a slight angle depending on how you want the bottle to sit. They will balance if the bottle is full or empty, just slide the neck of the bottle in or out till it balances.
