Great plate. Suprised it did not explode on the lathe. Going from solid wood on the lower left, to almost gone on the upper right is astounding. Nice use of the natural ? condition of the wood to add charector to your art work.

This plate certainly has character. The wormy wood could have easily been relegated to the firewood pile but you have transformed it from firewood into a work of art.

i’ve used some ash like this to make lamps. one of the creatures was still in one though. They were free-hand; i don’t lathe -don’t have one, and scared of them.
