Pete just finished my bass out of the Madrone burl I supplied him. It is going to be one of his featured basses at the NAMM show. We are sharing a booth together. I have not seen it in person yet but will get a chance to bring it back home with me in a couple of weeks.

I love to see a master craftsmen’s works of art and it is even more satisfying when the master craftsmen uses my wood.

The top is out of Madrone burl with an ash body. The neck is maple. That is all I know about it.

I guess the next order of business is to learn to play the bass. I play the guitar but never the bass.

Thanks for your comments.

Guitar looks great. It makes it a little easier to build great pieces when you start with outstanding wood.

Keep it up.

Quite an eyecatcher you have there. I have a old college buddy that plays the bass. I dare not even let him think something like this is possible or he’ll be harassing me at all hours.

I just ran across this. Super nice!!! Have you ever heard of “freecycle.com”? You could freecycle this to me if you wanted to, I wouldn’t mind, haha. As a bass player, my mouth is watering.
