I made a tea box for my wife, for her birthday. The orange coloured timber is Western Australian Sheoak. The darker timber in the middle is Woody Pear.

That is one lovely box !
Beautiful colour, is that the natural colour of the She oak ?
Actually the name is very fitting as this is for your Wife /She .

That’s a great looking tea box! I like the overall design of it—and especially like the figure in the Sheoak!

Yes that is the natural colour of Sheok and woody pear. Sheoak is not a true oak, but is called that because of the large rays exposed when quarter sawn. It is a strange tree, because it has needle like leaves like a pine.
