Someone gave me a variety of different hardwood including several pieces of elm. It’s all been in my garage for quite some time, and I’ve finally managed to get a planer. This coat rack is the first project from that lumber and the planer. I was surprised at just how nice the elm appears after it’s been planed. Finished with Danish oil.

I’ve never worked with elm. It is a beautiful wood. The coat rack is nice, very clean lines.
