Thats a pretty cool chuck. How do you get the bowl centred? Your bowl looks amazing, beautiful finish.

WOW!! Bob, I Gotta make me one. I’m tired of fussing with the oneway chuck too. I’ve seen this before but not the plans.

Thanks Jim.
Bruce, the two pieces slide toward each other via the arced slots making the rubber stoppers glide in and out in unison.

I think the math for it is base on the “helix” but dont quote me.
I’m part luddite when it comes to math and geometry.

Cheers

Mike for the State up North

There is a set of plans on Woodcentral a version, not as nice as Bob #2’s though.

THIS IS COOL and going straight into favorites. I almost purchased a oneway the other day and now I’m grateful I did not. Thank you. BTKS

Thanks for the post Bob… I’m looking forward to building one of my own…

The Wood Central link Chunk posted should be: Longworth Chuck

There were a couple of extra characters at the end of the link…. :)

Looks great! I’m making one as soon as tax season is over. Then I’m going to spend the summer having fun in the shop.

Thanks for the post Bob. I have been trying to understand how the chuck is self centering but now that you’ve posted your pics I now see how it works. Great job!
