Jumbo Kerfmaker

This is my attempt at the Kerfmaker, I call it the Jumbo because I can make a dado or lap joint up to 8” wide and my kerf can be as wide as my dado set will allow which is 11/16ths., but it will go over an inch. I wanted to do something that would make a lap joint in 2x stock for making bench legs. I have been getting back into woodworking.

Let me know what all you folks think. This was made from a piece of oak I salvaged from a couch I was throwing away.

The other hole is for me to move the bolt or put in another for more holding power

I inserted an aluminum threaded bushing into the oak for the bolt and secured it for good with Gorilla Glue.

I see a new trend, who can make the biggest kerfmaker! lol!! “yea so I used some 2×4 stock for this model…” :D

I think this will be just the start. bigger the better this has to be the koolest and simplest jig I have ever seen. besides the story stick.

I haven’t quite figure out what a kerfmaker does, but as many of them as I’ve seen posted…..I must have one. LOL
