this is a box i made some months ago ,
it was sent as a gift ,
as a thank you .
but after 2 months ,
i haven’t heard a word .
maybe it got snatched by
a customs agent ,
or just not liked very much ?
how ever that may be ,
i made it , you saw it , it is recorded for posterity .
maybe it will be worth something someday ,
after i’m gone ?
like those things they find in an attic ?

it reminds me of a birthday cake .
it is rosewood , with a peroba rosa sides ,
and aromatic cedar insides .
i didn’t get pictures of it cut open and hinged , sorry .

the inlay is the one i gave larry ,
for fathers day ,
that he made his kaleidescope from .
it is the starbursts i make ,
without the curved cuts .
so i’m just moving on for the new year ,
which i hope we all enjoy !

thanks for looking .

Great looking box. Sorry the recipient did not acknowledge it. I sure would not do that to anyone.

Great box. Lots of pieces in that lid.
That same thing has happened to me too and it just doesnt feel right.
But I wont let it stop me from doing what I like and I wont let the actions of others affect how much I enjoy giving.

thank you all .
janice , your comments are allways nice , thank you .
jerry , it took me by surprise .
mario , i made a spline slider with the angle cut out in it ,
it was a little goofy with the splines ,
cause they were just a shade tight ,
and the ends were ( of the splines ) not exact up and down ,
so i put the plugs to do that .
andy , well said , why i decided to post , so i can have a clean new year !

Fantastic, one should no base his mood on other people, they can let you down. Anyway, if they didn’t like it, then thet need rehab or something, it is beautiful, and I appreciate they work that went into it.
Happy New Year.

David, this is a gorgeous box. I love the design and the lid adds so much to its visual appeal. The keys certainly are unique and original as are you. It is a shame that the recipient did not at least acknowledge the receipt of the gift but, in this case, it is the thought that really counts.

It is wonderful to have a gifted talent, such as you do, that allows you to create such beautiful pieces of art. And your willing to share this gift with others is certainly an inspiration for the rest of us.

David , it is a wonderful box indeed. I can’t believe that anyone would not appreciate this work of art !
Did you mail the gift with any insurance or tracking numbers to see if the person ever recieved it ? Is there anyone close to the intended recipient that you might ask questions of ?
Peace and Happiness to you in our new year and always , David : )

Everyone has said it all David. The box is beautiful. I wish you could package some of your talent and send it to me. I don’t think I can ever get that good…

David, As always, your work blows me away…......So much talent and a big heart too. One thing about it, if the recipient didn’t appreciate it, everyone on here sure does! Thanks for sharing your awsome talents with us.
