Fly Tying Desk Finished

I posted my desk a few days ago with out the drawers. I had a little time over the Holidays and was able to finish. The small drawers have fish pull knobs, and the three taller drawers have a fly fisherman’s creel. They are really cool, but I could not get a good picture with my camera.

This was a desk that was featured in Wood Mag, I made a few changes and designed the storage space to handle my fly tying stuff. The center storage unit is self locking (no glue) and can be removed if needed.

Thanks for looking.

Beautifully done desk!
I like how it all ‘tucks away’ when it needs to.

Greg:

As a long time fly fisherman, I would like to get back into fly tying. In what issue of “Wood” did this desk appear. Many thanks for showing us your beautiful cabinet.

Very nice job. I used to tie flies, but haven’t for a number od years. What dies “The enter storage unit is self locking (no glue) and can be removed if needed” mean?

The fly tying desk of a king! I would not be able to tie flys at this desk, I would be looking at the wood and craftsmanship too much! Very Nice!

It was on the cover of the October 2009 WOOD magazine. It was their 25th Anniversary Special Collector’s edition. It is a “Drop-front Computer Desk” that I turned into a fly tying desk. Next, I have to build a matching stool.
