I decided to make a pattern for this so you have two options. If you want to use a 1 1/4” bit or use a scroll saw. This one finished I use the bit on the outer holes and then cut the rest on the scroll saw. The empty cage in the other pictures I used just the scroll saw and like the outcome much better. Less sanding and more even cage.

For the Scroll Saw blade I used a #7 Polar from Fly Dutchman. I put a slight forward lean on the blade set up to help with the thickness. 1 3/4” x 1 3/4” x 5” Bass Wood.

Hey Jim. Yea, for those who don’t mess around with the wood thing, they dont usually have a clue. For the rest of us … its old hat.

I was just messing around in the shop and decided to make a few. I bought a course logo ball from the place I play. Thought I’d take it back to them next week and ask for my money back and tell them there is something wrong with the ball. Then just give it to them to display. Most guys going in there won’t have a clue.

Nice work. Now it will be a great conversation piece.
