So this little project was my first attempt at carving, and boy was it a lot of fun. I started with a piece of 3/8ths Purpleheart left over from an unfortunately failed project. And, of course, the inspiration from BDSart here on LJ’s. Big shout out to you man, love your work. However, I decided to go for a bracelet piece instead, because a necklace really isn’t the style of my girl. As such, I made it slimmer and smaller, and added a curved back. Most of the shaping was done with a carbide tool on my dremel, with final dimensions found by round and triangle files and inside dimensions smoothed with diamond files. I sanded it up to 220, and then wet sanded boiled linseed oil in with 800 grit paper. I made the bracelet part out of hemp cordage I picked up from a craft store, but I couldn’t find the size I was looking for so I just tripled it up, aesthetically it didn’t ruin it for me.
As always, comments and criticisms welcome
