This table is made with red oak. The top is red oak plywood with a 2” band of solid red oak. The bottom shelf is red oak plywood. I got the plans from Woodsmith magazine Vol. 22 No. 127. I changed the dimensions to suit my needs.
I also made the top and the drawer different. I reduced the number of spindles in the sides.

I assembled the drawer with locking rabbit joints and glue. After the glue set, I inserted mahogany dowels.
I made my own dowels from some scrap. I used a straight 5/16” plug cutter on the drill press. It will make 1 1/2”
plugs, which is a good length for pinning the drawer.

Very nice table. I like the band of oak on the table top….simple yet elegant. The elimination of a few of the side spindles gives it a simpler look which I think enhances the overall look.

Nice table! Making a pair of tables is on my list of “projects to do”. Thanks for sharing.

That’s quite a table Emmett. I like the dowels for the drawer. Gives it a quality look without the pain of dovetails.

Emmet, Thats a fine looking table You have assembled there. Looks like You put some quality workmanship into the construction of this piece and the finish turned out great as well. I like the Mission style furniture and You have a fine example of that in this well done table. Thanks for sharing.

Missed this on the first go-around.

While my wife quilting-shopped, I was browsing at the furniture store, next door.

They had a table nearly identical to this.

I loved it. Took a LOT of mental notes … in hopes of making one, eventually.

Really nicely done, Emmett !!
