Toy Cars - Scarp wood and dowling

Some toy cars I made for my niece’s first birthday. (sorry for the picture quality)

Both cars are made from some scrap wood I got from my Landlord and the wheels are cut from dowling (A process I will never do again.) Finding the exact center was a pain, then trying to drill, with a brace and bit, into the exact center was a whole other issue. The cars roll kind of funny as a result, but I have learned my lesson and bought a set of hole saws.

Rolling funny will be half the fun 20 years from now if they’re still around,
and I may add I do have toys I built way back and remember what I did to make them with fondness.

O! and nice project.

Thanks!

They were fun to build, and I am planning on making a new set, with some improvements based on what I learned this time around.
