Friend of mine likes the stuff i build so for Christmas I decided to build him and his wife a coffee table. About a year or so ago I got a hold of some maple alder and oak from a cabinet shop dumpster. it was mostly rails and styles from cabinet doors that had been messed up or rejected for whatever reason. I had seen designs like this around before so its not an original design. I am also trying a new finish. I take 2 parts wiping poly and 1 part BLO and wipe on. Its been cold in my shop so I have to warm it up with space heaters apply and let stand for a bit before turning heat off. Gives me good cause to clean up a little while i wait. Has some Oak plugs on the breadboard ends to hide screws and purple heart plugs on the sides. I have still yet to put on a third coat of finish and it will be done, I already have two coats.

Someone’s scrap lumber is someone else’s beautiful table. If the cabinet shop only knew. Nice work.

Very nicely done, I like the color accent of the pegs.
