This box has a screen top opening, three entry spots on the back bottom, and a queen screen keeping her in the box but it allows the bees to come and go from the hive, except the Queen will not be able to escape. when you see them getting ready to swarm insert it into the front of the hive and open the slider board to allow them in and out access. Once the queen is in the box ready to swarm you slide the bar and lock the bees out of the hive and put this box on the front of a new hive. Place a board of brood in the new hive it was make the bees go in and start a new split hive.

Cool. I college entomology lab class we had a hive in the lab with red glass sides so we could watch the bees. The entrance was in a window. I got to where I could some what read the dances and tell which direction the flowers are. I did not get good enough to read how far. Later I have been up to at least 2 swarms of bees in the wild and watched them. Very interesting.
Nice project.
