Scared bowl

This bowl was done for a friend of mine who owns a metal shop. He just did some mods to my lathe, and as payment, wanted a rustic piece for his den. This was from a fallen maple branch. It had some severe scare tissue that made some nice touches. It was finished with deft danish oil.

Lovely! It’s funny sometimes how a relative minimal effort (not knocking your workmanship) can create an object of beauty and grace.

Thanks everyone. Bob, I know what you mean. It was the wood that created the beauty. I just turned a simple curved bowl. Without the scaring on the wood, it would have been very plain.
