Small cherry box finished with walnut oil then waxed.

Something very appealing about the simplicity and utilitarian nature of this style box. These type of simple projects always have a way of drawing me in. The project also gave me an chance to build a few things first that had been on my to do list. I made a small table saw sled to cut 45 ° angles and dug out the toy Craftsman pen lathe and made a small “drum” sander. It worked surprisingly well for being so under powered and made getting the lid and bottom pieces very uniform in thickness.

Wow, that’s a small box (didn’t realize how small until the last picture).
