The project I posted before this one was a project that I had done many years ago (so it this one). It got me to thinking about documenting my work and how I hadn’t done a very good job of it on my earlier pieces. So I’ve been on a kick lately to document some of my undocumented pieces. This is a intarsia skull that I made 15 -20 years ago. I don’t know if its’ really true intarsia or not, since I didn’t rely on the color of the wood and wood grain for the different pieces. I cheated and used paint. Hey, I was young and the various colored woods and highly patterned woods are expensive! I still think it looks good. It’s made from all pine, cut on my scroll saw. I stained the horns with a dark walnut stain and painted the rest of the skull with an antique white.
