The Murphy bed was designed and painted by my wife. It was made of maple plywood and she hand painted the grain on it after I did a plain base coat. The hardest part for me was getting the all the trim to match across the three different cabinets. The large blank space in the center of the bed is supposed to be filled with an “art” project yet to come.
The drop leaf table was a re-purposed file cabinet from surplus office equipment, I added legs and wheels and the swing-out for the drop leaf, there is another on the other side of the cabinet. My wife did the painting on this also, as a sort of sponge painting using various stains and paints that were available.
