Project Information
Another unique string creation to come off my bench. A 3 string cigar box lap slide guitar. The 2 primary woods I used were Desert Ironwood and a dyed green Curly Maple neck. The fret board took the longest to do, carved vine with inlayed Malachite leaves and 3 dyed red carved ivory roses plus bone frets. This also has a magnetic pickup with a veneer overlay at the end of the fret board. The control block at the tail end was carved from a solid block of Ironwood it contains a 250k volume pot, recessed input jack, string grounding brass rod and the brass string end plate. Other handmade parts are Desert Ironwood Burl bridge with palm rest on top, under the box frame with dragon carving and a bone inlayed Malachite dragon inlay. Ivory heel with Turquoise center. 24" scale length, 3 strings…018p,.024w,.034w. Very pleased how this came out and it sounds awesome !
