I built this book case for a friend’s basement home theater room. The case will be installed as a door to a utility closet that has the furnace and hot water heater. The left side of the case will be attached to the wall using a piano hinge but the weight will be supported by furniture movers attached to the bottom. I thought about using casters but the floor is carpet and I was worried about the casters sinking into the carpet too much making it difficult to swing open. I will post some pictures of it once he gets the room done and has installed the case. The case is made of yellow birch and was ebonized using General Finishes water based ebony dye and then topcoated with Arm-R-Seal.
