I built these for someone who wanted shelving to the ceiling in their victorian house. The two bookshelves are actually 4 different cabinets stacked, 2 on each side. The ladder is built from oak dowel placed between oak runners drilled with an 1 1/4” forstner bit, glued and screwed. The finish is dewaxed shellac, minwax gel stain, and three coats of satin polyurethane. The shelves are a little over 11’ and the customer was very happy with the product.
