Hi all. Large is a relative term. This is about 8 in in diameter. I only have a midi lathe, so the size of my proects is limited. Plus, it is hard to cut pieces of wood here that have few enough checks and cracks to turn without worrying about it flying off my chuck. As it was, I had to do some extensive sawdust and CA glue filling on the bowl. Concaved the bottom and did not turn a foot based on some feedback from earlier posts. Finished with a few coats of tung oil. I also posted one pic of the bowl pre-finish to see what the natural wood looks like.

Thanks for looking.

Eric

Looks like Red Oak?
Great job I like the grooves on the side, give it character.
Tung oil is a nice finish.
Thanks

Keep it up.
