Yes this is wood working. Saw a similar toilet paper holder in use at small restaurant the other day during our back country trip. I thought this is so different that you folks would enjoy seeing it. Made this one the last couple days. I had a tub full of antlers given to me by a friend about ten years ago (I don,t throw anything away). I was going to make hunting knife displays from them. The woodwork is the small cedar mounting plaque and the sycamore spindle. You might be surprised at just how hard the antler is. Epoxied two halves together then cut an filed an 1 1/4” tenon on the back of the joint. Drilled a hole and epoxied antler assembly in. Made the spindle on the lathe. I,m sending this one off to a sportsman friend tomorrow. Comments appreciated. Thanks for looking.

Absolutely love it. Looks like a claw grabbing the roll.

Great job! And I admire your courage for posting such a controversial project – I hope you are prepared to stand your ground and defend yourself from the woodworking purists, the anti-hunting crowd, AND the “should the toilet paper hang over or under?” squad (they scare me the most- LOL). Thanks for sharing Have a great day.

Again this is not my idea, but a good steal. This one does enclose the roll more than the original. I have been trained for the last forty years how to hang the paper by the same woman. My friend should receive this tomorrow. I can,t wait for the call. Thanks everyone for looking and especially the ones with comments.
