Picking up a few projects from storage to take to the WDC I came across this old box. Someone had dropped it (maybe threw it) and it was pretty well damaged. They didn’t tell me about it so I’ve had a bad vibes from it. Anyway today I did some distressing and glazing to it. Fixed the hinges. Way back when I had a college assignment to build a drawer. Also had one to build a door. I happened to combine the two assignments into this box. Oak is not my carving wood of choice. It seems to be the wrong size. Too small to be a chest. Too large to fit on a dresser. Then again thats why we got to school…to learn.

Dennis,
This is very nice. Beautiful carving and finish. I’d be proud of this piece.
As an aside – you’ve sure got a clean workbench!

Hey, Dennis, this piece is wonderful, just falls within my definition of a small wooden box, which in case you didn’t know, I just love.

More bad vibes from this box! I took it to the Western design Conference to keep my supplies in…well the glass cleaner leaked all over everything. What a mess. Half the inside is now black from the ammonia in the glass cleaner.

Sorry about the unintentional modifications. But I guess you can spill some more on it and contuinue the stain job.

so frustrating … Let us know what you do about the inside.
You didn’t luck out with a funky design inside, did you?

Great looking box Dennis. Maybe you should spray the rest of the box inside with window cleaner, to make it all the same color? Then give it away so it does not give you any more bad vibes.
