This is the first box that I’ve made as a gift. My wife has seen some of my practice / shop boxes and mentioned she’d like a box so I said that I was kind of busy and that I’d try. I really started this on over a month ago but hit a build snag when I tried to cut the box to size and screwed it up. That’s when I made my shooting board and was able to hand plane back to square.

The body is Ash and the top and bottom is Walnut, the pins are from Oak dowels. Three coats of Danish oil and I’ll probably wax it in a few days.

Happy Holidays !

Thanks for looking.

later,
