Finally scored enough weathered wood to do the accent wall of my back porch. The rest of the porch is done in T&G pine so I wanted this wall to jump! Ended up getting short pieces of an old fence my friend tore down so both sides of the wood was grayed and weathered. I put 1/2” OSB over the whole wall to level it out and give me something to attach to. I ended up sawing all the weathered wood on the table saw down the middle to make use of both sides of the lumber, doubling my coverage. I butted the pieces up and used my brad gun to attach them to the wall.
The heart was made from another scrap, an old peeling piece of 1×10. Even more of the paint fell off during the construction, giving me sort of a ‘broken’ heart effect. Painted the doors and trim grey (Not shown! I already had the paint and it knocked down the contrast a bit.) I may cover the doors eventually but for now the porch is usable for the summer breezes…
Thanks for looking!
