After doing so many projects on the honey-do-list I decided to do a project on my bucket list :

Upgrade my Cabinet Doors…the White doors above are the old ones

When I inherited this shop it had 5 cabinets of various style, sizes and made with a smorgasbord of wood types.. Although I didn’t want to remake the entire array of cabinets I decided to redo the doors to mimic the cabinets I had already built for the mitre saw station.

(9)1×3x8 Poplar solid wood
(1) 4×8x1/4” plywood

Tools Used:
Miter Saw
Dado stack
Drill driver

Door Design:
It’s a simple but very strong mortise& tennon door frame.

Step 1: cut all 1×3 to final length
Step 2: center a dado on stiles & rails.. Make sure you put dado on the correct sides, so as that the 1/4” plywood panel.
Step3: cut all tennis using dado set again..
Step 4: cut plywood panels to final size
Step5:Dry fit everything
Step 6: glue up
Step 7 : install hinges and door hardware and finally hang

Thanks, I am happy with them and it only took the weekend to do it all ( 7 doors and 3 coats of paint on each unit)
