Mom wanted something small she could pull up to the front edge of the couch to set a plate or drink on. So I took some measurements and scrounged through my wood stash and came up with some QS spalted sycamore that looked interesting. This was primarily a BS and handplanes project. The legs are 3 pcs each – 2 pcs beveled at 45 where they form the OS corners then a filler piece in back that was partially cut down when forming the tapers. Legs meet the top at 10 deg’s with a couple of wedged purpleheart dowels through the top and into the legs.
BLO then 2 coats of Zinser SealCoate then Target WB lacquer for the finish.
Just in time for Christmas.
