Hey everyone, quick project I put together on how I made homemade/wooden shop lights with LED bulbs. Really easy project that adds lots of light and can use up some scraps. Only thing I had to purchase were the bulbs.

Thanks! I swapped some of my fluorescent bulbs out for led’s and realized the only reason you even need the fixture is to hold the bulb up. So on my next set, instead of buying fixtures I just made them.

I swapped some of my fluorescent bulbs out for led s and realized the only reason you even need the fixture is to hold the bulb up. So on my next set, instead of buying fixtures I just made them.

A very valid point!

Fluorescent bulbs emit light 360 degrees around the tube. LEDs only emit light downward (180 degrees) since the back side is all heat sink. No need for the fixtures reflector.

Your setup has everything you need.
