There are many bowls but this bowl…

It is my first bowl! I asked and received ( OK I got it myself) a bowl gouge for Christmas and like a child I could not wait to try it. So I mounted a 4×4 8/4 Cherry blank and went to town on it. I have so much lo learn but I liked the reaction my kids had when I brought it in. “ you made a bowl I cant believe you made a bowl” of course my youngest daughter promptly filled it with water to see if it “worked” LOL. Did I mentioned it was not finished yet, hence the raised grain in the picture.

Oh! by the way how many of you guessed that it would not be long after the candle holder before I did a bowl?

thanks for looking.

Nice first bowl. Allways good when they come off the lathe done and not in pieces. haha

Keep it up. Looking forward to many more.

Nice first attempt….... Bowl gouges are good tools. ..but it does take a bit of time to figure out how to use one correctly. You are off to a great start.

Jacques, this is a gorgeous bowl. But I have to tell you that you just can’t stop with 1. My crystal ball says that there are more of these in your future. :)

It looks like you are having fun- as it should be and I am looking forward to seeing your next one.
