That’s great Tom.
How many hours into the design and execution?
If it’s made with cellulose then its a wood product either in the beginning or end.

Karson, I think about 15 hours all told?? I cut the boards on the circle cutter and then took out the center of the second layer with a sabre saw. The leather took about 8 hours? to carve. The next one will be quicker as I know where I’m going now. I have lierally dozens of carving patterns in the shop so it is just a matter of adapting one to fit the project. You can’t see the upholstery tacks on the edge band. The leather is stretched over the form and glued. I have another cut out but need to do the third ring so the movement isn’t againt the wall.

Wow! Having done leather work when I was a kid, I can appreciate how much went into that piece.
Nice work!

Hi Thomas,
I’m not sure how it’s possible you didn’t know where you were going. It is circle after all. LOL
As I’ve mention many times in our email conversations, your leather work is absolutely incredible.
Mot, did you get a haircut?

Thanks, guys. Lee the problem isn’t where I’m going, since it’s a circle I just don’t know where to stop.Carleen says we’ll post pictures of her kitchen if I ever get it finished.

The cows in my country eat wood…so I figure leather should count as a wood by product! Great work!

awesome.
Definitely a woodworking project—some people put veneer on top of their framework and some people put leather…

Superb! I’d love to collaborate with you on a clock I’m building. I wonder if you might be interested in adding a leather touch to one of my clock faces? Max
