As I choose woods for various projects, I generally look for woods that are overly figured, distressed, spalted.. I this piece I found a piece of walnut that had a knot in it that had fallen out forming a natural Abyss,, that along with with some crazy spalted maple I had laying around, and bam …............... “The Abyss”

You realy know how to turn wood imperfections to advantages. Beautiful triangle opening detail.

talk about eye candy – you have a couple pounds of it right there, good thing there’s not calories in looking because that it SWEET !

I love the design and I really like that you work with the wood’s imperfections. To me that makes it way more interesting and beautiful Great job!!
