Over in korea there isn’t much selection for lumber without paying alot. So i found some used pallets, pulled the nails and ran the boards through a planer. End result is what you see here, although i’m disappointed that the red ends of the gun barrel and wrench were almost erased when i sprayed the clear lacquer at the end. My guy was very happy.

The easiest method I’ve found to cut the scythe was to find an image I like, save the image and edit it with microsoft paint and white out the edges of the shape. Then i held up a piece of paper and taped it to my computer monitor, and the white edge outline will shine through the paper. I then used a pencil to trace the shape and that was it.

Looks great! I can totally relate to what you’re saying about lumber in Korea. I just came back from 3 years there. I’m not sure which base you’re at (if you’re military), but hit up the base recycling yard. I got literally tons of lumber from there for free! NCOIC loved that I was recycling their recycling. :) Also found a hardwood lumber supplier based out of Busan that has a warehouse in Suwon and will deliver (Delivering to Osan only cost about 30 bucks). Thanks for sharing!
