I have seen a few of these on LJ’s so here is my version. Guessed on the dimensions but it came out ok.

You are on LJs and you had to guess the size of a wine bottle? ;)

That’s a nice present.

Nice looking box. I like the way you curved the ends. How about a few pics of it open and with a good bottle of wine?

nice caddy… the top padauk or bloodwood…or is it completely something else?

Hey Angelofdeath, the woods are padauk, walnut, mahogany dowels, birch bottom and maple. The padauk looks redder in the photos than in person.

Hi there, Looking at the caddy I am not sure how you lock the top on so when you pick it up by the handle the top doesn’t slide out? :) Is it something to do with the walnut bits?

I put the walnut bits there for two reasons. One is to cover the routed out ends and also to pinch the top a little so the sliding top has some resistance. I thought about only having it slide one way or adding a drop down peg stop of some kind but the caddy gifts that I made were given more as decorative storage so I thought what I did was adequate.
