I was asked a few weeks ago to make a small box for a friends daughter, for christmas.
Having numerous other projects already on the go, I was a bit rushed with this one.
This is the result.
You’ll notice the chip out on the front left side, I didn’t have the time to repair it properly. But I don’t think the 5 yr old recipient will care. :) I decided to have an elevated bottom, with a “hidden” sliding drawer underneath.
The finish is dewaxed shellac, followed by wipe on gloss poly.
Turned out ok, given the time constraints.

Thanks for looking.

Did you carve out the lettering? It’s very nice.

She’ll never notice the chip. She’ll be much more focused on that secret compartment!

Awesome box….also wondering where you got the lettering if you didn’t carve it. That is my daughters name as well. Very, very cool.

Fantastic box. Great design and wood choices. Fantastic build.

Keep it up.
