The project that wouldn’t end. I’m almost embarrassed to post this after Woodchuck’s DT3 version. A friend asked me last summer to make her a treasure chest for her and her daughter’s doll collection. We finally settled on this design she had found online. treasure chest. Problem after problem with this stupid thing. I won’t bore you but if you try these plans beware, the top and bottom are incorrect sizes. The only other change I need to make; the hasp I picked up is too small for a box this big. I’ll let her find one she likes and I’ll put it on for her.

Well, despite all the mayhem, this treasure chest turned out very well! I’m sure your friend and her youngster will be very pleased with it!

Someone here on LJ’s (I can’t recall his name) has in his signature line something like: “Woodworkers make mistakes—a true craftsman fixes them.” Your chest is a testament to that.

Now go pour yourself a nice bourbon and celebrate a project well done!

Beautiful rounded top. I like that additional tray inside.
