Paper Gator Sign

I had heard that people could not find the paper gator now that it was behind a wood gate in a fenced in area.
So, I volunteered to make a sign for it.

The paper gator is the dumpster for recycling newspaper and magazines, etc.
People could not find it so they were throwing their paper into the trash dumpster in the back of the property.

The sign was made from 2 pieces of Honduras mahogany. All I did was cut and rout the board .One of the students at the high school volunteered to cut it out on the CNC router and even painted it for me.

He finished it with clear lacquer.

Cheers, Jim

Is it an endangered species?

COOL sign!

Now you can make a sign…

”Beware of Paper Gator” :)

Great collaborative project, but like everyone else: what’s the rest of the story?

Thanks. I just thought everyone knew the paper gator. I added the description into the project.
It is the recycle dumpster for paper..

Hi Joe. I’ll put a sign on the inside of the fence saying don’t fall into the paper gator!!...for dumpster divers!!

Cheers, Jim

It’s a Michigan thing … there’s something in the water there …

You could have fun with that, “Please feed the P-Gator” ... “We like fat P-Gators” ...Etc.

You be careful on those dumpster dives, you never know what you may find in the dumpster…..

Very nice sign, far beyond what the paper gator deserves, but that’s like you, always going above and beyond…..

GREAT WORK both of you….

Thanks Brian , Mike and and Bruce!!
there is a gator on the dumpster, but you can’t see it with the wood gate there!!

That is an ancient CNC router they have but a lot of the students are learning to program it.

Cheers, Jim

Nice sign and great coop project that will let them know where to dump it or else .
We have movable bins for recycling and a sign like this would look great on that but likely will get me in trouble .

The student that did the artwork for me was on the lathe only one day and made a cane he designed. He sold it for $65 the next day!!
