Hi Everyone!

Here is another wood burning I did…this time I burned on paper for the first time. I used 140 lb cold pressed watercolor paper.

What I am most proud of is the frame I used for the dragon. It was made from Aspen and an inlay of wood bamboo was used then stained with Early American for color. I’m into making frames for all my artwork now, and for other artists as well.

I’ve never thought of using my wood burning outfit on heavy paper!! That is one great dragon. I had a customer who wanted a dragon on a saddle. Well, what do I know about dragons. So I drew one up and showed it to him. He told me,”No,no, that’s a hippy dragon. I want an oriental dragon!!”. He was old orient hand who flew for Northwest. He had a piece of art work and I drew a Chinese dragon.

Really impressive artwork and frame. Thanks for sharing and giving out ideas.

You’re very skilled in burning. Great detail!
