Glen, this is a gorgeous bookcase. Putting on an arched top rail was a good idea. It adds visual interest to the bookcase. It looks to be well built and it has a nice design to it.
How did you finish it?

The stain is Minwax Provincial 211. The varnish is Minwax semi-gloss, two coats.
