Alright, some of you wanted to see this after I mentioned I built this. It’s a rocking cradle chair made from more of that oak I got from that job site. My nephew and his wife had a little boy two years ago September and I figure this would be a great present for them. I got the plans from U-build. Pretty straightforward, just use dowels for all the joints. There’s only four screws in the whole thing, and they are under the seat to hold the support frame together. I used Celtic knots for the finials because they’re cool looking, and because my nephew can’t figure ou how I make them. He went to college and thinks he knows everything, so I just got to keep him in line. Finished with golden pecan stain and paste wax. Hope everybody likes it.

Wonderful, Paul. AKA “Nanny’s Chair.” How very old-school. And the Celtic K-nots? Thank you for standing up for Favorite Uncles everywhere. I can’t believe you’ve kept this from us for so long. Keep it coming.

That’s a great looking cradle/rocker! You don’t see these kinds of things today, and it’s nice to see something vintage, even if it’s brand new! I’m sure the happy couple will love it!
