Project Information

I haven't posted much on here but I thought I would post this one. I had some fun with it and its my first time using resin so I thought it would be a good project to post. I have to say, clear resin comes out looking great! This was also my first time doing bow ties which was a fun and I feel gave the piece an unique look.

I got the log from my father in-laws neighbor that for some reason decided to take down this huge old growth tree at his house in the suburbs of Kentucky. The slice is 36" in diameter and 3 1/2" thick. I made up the design of the base because I didn't want to do the same old simple thing or go with metal legs because that seems like what everyone is doing these days.

I'm selling this one to help pay for some new tools so it won't be in the house long…..I bet many of you know how that goes.

Thank you for looking and have a good one.

That is quite the chunk of wood! Didn't split too bad either. Nicely done.

Very nice table. How much resin did you use on that?

I put a total of four flood coats. The fourth probably wasn't needed but I had to do it to cover a mistake.
